Corinthian Cami

£5.00

Cable lovers rejoice! The Corinthian Cami features a beautiful, simple cable that runs across the front, back, and up one of the straps. It’s a cute and cool piece that is a fun introduction to cable knitting if you’ve never tried it before. The top is worked from the bottom up in the round and is a perfect quick knit for when the weather gets warm.

Materials and fit

Notions: 5mm and 4mm circular needles. You may also find a set of straight 5mm needles useful for the tubular cast on and possible DPKNs to work the straps. I used Lykke interchangeable needles to work this top and liked the 80cm cable best. You will also need some stitch markers

Yarn: 2 (2) 2 (2-3) 2-3 (3) 3 (3) 3-4 (3-4) skeins of We Are Knitters Pima Cotton

Yarn alternatives: I’d recommend any DK-weight yarn that has a good drape and matches the stated gauge. You could also use 2 strands of a lace-/fingering-weight yarn, but I’m not sure how well that would work with the cable.

Tension: 18 stitches x 23 rows in stocking stitch on 5mm needles

Sizing: The Corinthian Cami is intended to have between 0-5cm neutral, leaning on negative, ease. Depending on how you like your camis to fit, feel free to go up or down a size to get more or less ease. I like my camis to have a lot of negative ease so I made the size XS, even though I ‘should’ have made a S (my chest measurement is 92cm).

Size: (XXS) XS (S) M (L) XL (2XL) 3XL (4XL) 5XL

Chest measurement (cm): (80-85) 85-90 (90-95) 95-100 (100-105) 105-110 (110-115) 115-125 (125-135) 135-145

Actual circumference of garment (cm): (80) 84.4 (88.8) 93.3 (100) 104.4 (111) 120 (130) 140
