Aosta Slipover (Women's Sizing)

£6.00

The Aosta Slipover is a sleeveless knitted garment perfect for chilly winter days. It is perfect for layering over shirts and tops, with a rich texture thanks to Andalusian stitch. First, you will work the back panel of the garment back and forth in rows from the top down to the underarm. At this point, you will cut your yarn and pick up stitches on both shoulders separately. You will work the shoulders back and forth in rows down to the neckline, at which point you will join both shoulders together to form the front panel. You will work this down to the underarm again and then join the front and back panels together to work in the round. Once you have finished the body of the garment, you will finish the garment at the armholes and collar.

Please note that this is a pdf digital download and not a physical knitting pattern in both an English and a Polish language version.

You will need 6mm and 7mm circular needles. If you wish, you can use straight needles for the tops of the front and back panels, which are initially worked back and forth in rows.

You will need approx. 3 (3) 4 (4) 5 skeins of the Petite Wool or the Meriwool by We Are Knitters or any alternative yarn that matches the necessary tension. The sample garments are made with the Meriwool in the shade Natural and Beige. For the Beige Aosta Slipover, I added a strand of We Are Knitters Touch Me Mohair. One skein of this (400m) was perfect for the size S. This did not affect the tension but added a lot of extra tension. A silk-mohair blend like Drops Kid silk would also make a beautiful addition.

The sizes XS (S) M (L) XL are intended to fit a chest measurement of roughly 85-90 (90-95) 95-100 (100-105) 105-110 cm with around 5cm positive ease.

The Slipover is now also available in Polish! The file is included with the English-language version of the pattern.
